Level 1 NCEA Geography. Geography is a subject that allows students to better understand the world around them. Students will gain knowledge relating to both natural and cultural environments and learn how these environments interact to shape the world we live in. The course consists of 3 sections, with two topics covered in each section. The topics are as follows: 1) Population: Monsoon Asia and NZ. 2) Natural Hazards: Hurricanes and Earthquakes. 3) Resources: Dairy Farming and Gold Mining.

- The year nine programme consists of three units in the first three terms and several mini units in term four. Major topics covered are: Spaceship Earth, Nation of Migrants and Government.
